Outta site!

new-site-on-laptop
Koosje and I are both the type of people who tend to do everything ourselves. But as Sketchbook Skool has expanded, we have worked to wean ourselves of this habit. We hired Morgan Green, our wonderful Dean of Students and then we retained the LA design firm, Third Thing, to design a new website and a proper identity system for us. It’s ironic that I have been on the other side of the table for thirty years but now I am the client of smart, talented creative people. They have been extraordinary to work with and I have learned so much from them. Our site just went live. Please check it out and, if you haven’t already, sign up for the next semester of Sketchbook Skool, starting next week!

  1. The site is amazing! I have already spent way too much time watching the teachers’ work roll by. Looking forward to the class.

  2. Woo! Hoo! Knowing when to ‘hire out’ is the sign of an intelligent professional!!! Kudos! Your and Koosje’s time is better spent with teaching the klasses. Your students will notice the calmer and more interesting ‘YOU’ when you aren’t stressed trying to make the ‘business’ end… and everything else… work.

I’ve sat on the sidelines and watched as this whole skool bloomed right in front of me. From your exciting posts of your trips, to the constant hints of the idea, to the advertising of the klasses, and now reading the exciting news you are expanding. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Although I have spent hours trolling your site and facebook page, Koosje’s site and videos, and all the other teacher’s sites… I have not as yet signed up for classes. The first semester caught my piggy bank with an empty stomach… and this semester finds me on a vacation adventure of a life time (hence the empty piggy). I hope to attend klasses the next time around. I can’t wait!!!

  3. Viewed the new web last night and I was impressed. Proud to be a member of Sketchbook Skool. See you in session 2, which starts on July 4th, but wondering how you are going to display a fireworks show.

  5. If you’re going to the site to see ‘wow’, they’ve accomplished the task. But with no ‘typical’ interface the site fails horribly in its primary function – to provide information quickly about Sketchbook Skool. I’m glad I went to sign up before this change. See you in class next week.

  6. Nice! I like the new site! Have a great summer session.

(I hope you can get this email comment. I can’t bear logging into one more thing today in order to communicate or do business, which is what  Wordpress wants for comments on the blog.)
